IPv6 test - IPv6/4 connectivity and speed test IPv6-test.com is a free service that checks your IPv6 and IPv4 connectivity and speed. Diagnose connection problems, discover which address (es) you are currently using to browse the Internet, and what is your browser's protocol of choice when both v6 and v4 are available. IPv6 security - IPv6 - Confluence IPv6 is succeptible to many of the same threats, albeit in a slightly different form. Although IPv6 does not use ARP, it is still susceptible to the same MAC hijacking attacks. Likewise, it is still possible to setup rogue DHCPv6 servers, and rogue routers. Unfortunately, layer 2 security hasn't yet caught up with IPv6. Hurricane Electric IPv6 IPv6 or IP version 6 is the next generation Internet protocol which will eventually replace the current protocol IPv4. IPv6 has a number of improvements and simplifications when compared to IPv4. The primary difference is that IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses as compared to the 32-bit addresses used with IPv4. Among other things, this improvement is IPv6 - Cisco
IPv6 addresses are 128 bits long (16 bytes), including 64 bits for the network number and 64 bits for the host number. The host portion of an IPv6 address or part of it often will be derived from a media access control (MAC) address or other interface identifier. Depending on the subnet prefix, IPv6 has a more complicated architecture than IPv4.

Dec 18, 2019 · IPv6 was built with more security in mind. IP Security (IPSec) is a series of IETF security protocols for security, authentication, and data integrity, and it’s fully integrated into IPv6. The thing is, IPSec can also be fully integrated into IPv4. It’s up to ISPs to implement it — and not all companies do.
Important Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is a mandatory part of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 and newer versions. We do not recommend that you disable IPv6 or its components. If you do, some Windows components may not function. We recommend that you use “Prefer IPv4 over IPv6” in prefix policies instead of disabling IPV6. IPv6 provides a much larger address pool so that many more devices can be connected to the Internet. It also improves addressing and routing of network traffic. IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol, which identifies devices across the internet so they can be located. Every device that uses the internet is identified through its own IP IPv6 is making room Everything that connects to the Internet has to have its own unique Internet Protocol (IP) address. Think of an IP address as a phone number that websites and devices use to communicate with each other. Depending on the subnet prefix, IPv6 has a more complicated architecture than IPv4. IPv6 is the next generation Internet Protocol (IP) standard intended to eventually replace IPv4, the protocol many Internet services still use today. Every computer, mobile phone, and any other device connected to the Internet needs a numerical IP address in order to communicate with other devices.
